Business Support Systems Group

CenturyLink stands for the and one group that truly personifies that mission is the BSS Group. It's the place where the work we do reaches out to the millions of customers we serve on a day-to-day basis. The group takes care of the business by maintaining internal processes and software applications. It's also responsible for the smooth performance of the key pillars on which the CenturyLink IT group stands.

This group has grown many times within the past two years. It is the performance, drive and, above all, the group's striking consistency that has contributed to its fast growth. The group's main domains of work are Billing, Ordering, Corporate, Wholesale, Consumer, HR, VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol), Procurement and high-speed Internet applications. The group works on Java, J2EE, .net, mainframe, Oracle, Oracle Apps and PeopleSoft applications. Each Technical Manager has been mapped to each CenturyLink Business Domain so that he/she will be the single point-of-contact for all deliverables from CenturyLink India. The group is focused on continuous improvement of application deliverables. Some of the Team Leads and Project Leads participate on system outage analysis, implementing the lessons learned across groups to stabilize the applications in production. Software Engineers and Senior Software Engineers are the resources that make up the majority of the Maintenance Organization, ensuring professional skill sets match personal responsibility.

This group provides maintenance services for a large number of mission critical software applications. The applications supported by this group are significant to CenturyLink's internal operations and to its relationships with customers.
